I ordered the Alen air-purifier to help reduce dust in my apartment as I have a dust mite allergy. The unit is small and has a shape that can fit in any room with any decor. This is a plus compared to other units that look like small air conditioners. I was also impressed by how quiet the unit is on the lower settings. I use the Alen air-purifier in my bedroom and it lets me sleep through the night without waking up from a stuffy head. The filters are easy to change and the air-purifier is user friendly. I was skeptical at first but I noticed a difference after the first two nights of use. I'm happy with my purchase and also happy about the easy availability of filters.

We are enjoying our new air purifier. The air in our familyroom smells fresher and there seems to be less dust on furniture. I am not noticing nasal stuffiness and post nasal problems as before, Even after heavy cleaning.

With a vertical profile, the AlenParalda fits more places than the blocky horizontals. Feather touch controls, four speeds..the second speed is perfect for daytime..quiet. On or off ionizer that I use overnight with the third speed that presents a nice 'white-noise' to sleep with. All this and the air in my home smells fresh AND a noticable decline in allergy symptoms.
Pros: User friendly, Quiet, Attractive Design
Cons: Pricey

We started using these on the 8th of November. Within 4 or 5 days we really noticed the difference. We could no longer see particles in the air. I have only dusted once since we started them up - and I haven't dusted yet after that. We do put them on timers to use them on high speed when we won't be in the room because it is loud. But all the other speeds are quiet enough for comfort. We bought these to keep kitty dander and dust out of the air - and so far - it's great !! They are soooooo worth the money.

I am very happy with this purchase. I decideded to spend the extra $100 to get this model, the Alen Pralda because it requires one filter and not two filters that the lower priced black model requires and because it says it filters 98% as opposed to the 94% filtering of the black model. The filters cost the same about $45 a piece so that would add up over time. (Need replacing every 3 to 6 months) Since I bought two models, one for upstairs and one for down, I only spent $50 more, they gave me a discount. Well worth it. So far the air in the house smells a LOT cleaner and evern looked more clear! Last year Nov through March I suffered with asthma induced from severe allergies to the Mountain Cedar and Juniper and had to use inhalers. This year so far no asthma and no need for inhalers. So, I'm glad I made this investment. The noise level on 2 is about the same as our air conditioner. Quiet and we can sleep with it there. They pretty much stay on that level.
Pros: Good Value, Quiet, Attractive Design, one filter, 98% filtering!, better value in long run
Cons: filters are pricey
